How stress and inflammation are linked.

Question: Can we develop drugs / therapeutics that suppress the type of inflammation response that occurs over a long period of time?

Pro-inflammatory cytokines are “upregulated” during chronic stress. Usually they do their job during periods of stress and then disappear but remain during periods of prolonged (chronic) stress. In brief can we develop anti-cytokine therapeutics that “downregulate” pro-inflammatory cytokines.
